The HEAT loves sports and we offer programs for athletes from age 4 through competitive high school. You must be a current member of the HEAT to participate in our sports programs. Our high school sports program competes in the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) and all athletes participating in this league with the HEAT must be registered with their county as a homeschooler.
HEAT WAVE Sports is a recreational sports program intended for kids age 4 thru grade 8. This is a non-competitive environment and a great way to introduce your children to new sports or let them play “just for fun”. The atmosphere is like that of a neighborhood get together. HEAT Wave Sports meets on Saturday mornings from 9-11. Rotating sports of Soccer (Sept-Oct), Flag Football, Kickball/Obstacle Courses March-April, Soccer (April-May) run in 6-week sessions. Nov-Dec, Basketball and Running (Jan-Feb)
Archery
The HEAT Archery program is comprised of Intro, Intermediate and Advanced classes. Our upper level teams have the opportunity to complete in local tournaments, state, and national competitions. We offer a yearly Summer Archery Boot Camp. This program is for age 9 and up and all equipment is provided.
Basketball
HEAT Wave (Developmental) Basketball
Our HEAT Wave Basketball program is for age 6 through 8th grade and is a developmental program that meets on Saturdays from 9-11 starting in January. It is family friendly and volunteer run.
Competitive Basketball for 4th-12th Grade
4th-8th grade athletes compete on single gender teams in the Tampa Bay Christian Athletic League (TBCAL). The season runs mid-February through April. Games and practices are during the week (usually 2 practices and 2 games). 4th-6th grade athletes play at 3:30 and 7th-8th grade athletes play at 4:30.
High school athletes (younger athletes considered for some sports based on experience) compete in the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA). The season runs mid-October through January. Games and practices are during the week (2-3 practices and 2 games) and games are typically in the evenings. There is mandatory FHSAA paperwork that must be completed (with strict deadlines) for FHSAA athletes. This is due before the season begins
Bowling
We offer both a recreational Bowling for Fun program and a competitive high school program. Bowling for Fun meets during the spring on a weekly basis. This is open to all ages, with or without bumpers. High school athletes (younger athletes considered for some sports based on experience) compete in the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA). The season runs August through October. Matches and practices are during the week (2-3 practices and 2 matches) and matches are typically in the late afternoon/early evening. There is mandatory FHSAA paperwork that must be completed (with strict deadlines) for FHSAA athletes. This is due before the season begins.
Cheerleading
We offer a fall and spring recreational intro to cheer program at the Homeschool Resource Center.
Cross Country/Track
Runners Kindergarten-12th Grade are encouraged to join our running community! Most practices include all ages, so this is a great sport for the entire family. HEAT parents join the fun too and get in their morning exercise during practice time. We offer both fall and spring cross country for K-8th, high school cross country in the fall and MS/HS Track and Field in the spring.
Fencing Club
We offer fall and spring semester in intro and intermediate fencing at the Homeschool Resource Center.
Flag Football
HEAT Wave Flag Football is offered for age 4 through 8th grade. This program is developmental and recreational and meets on Saturday mornings from 9-11 starting in mid-October and running for 6 Saturdays.

Gymnastics
Beginning and Intermediate programs are offered in the fall, spring and summer camps at the Homeschool Resource Center.
Karate
If offered year round at the Homeschool Resource Center. We have students of all levels age 5-adults.
Soccer

Swimming
The HEAT Swimming Program begins in late July/ early August. We have developmental and competitive teams for 5th-12th grade.
Tennis
The HEAT run tennis clinic seasons in the fall and spring at a local tennis club with a tennis pro leading instruction.
Volleyball
The HEAT has an active volleyball program. We believe in training up our younger athletes to prepare them for our competitive high school program. Many of our athletes compete in volleyball at the club level and our high school girls program has advanced to the FHSAA State Series on multiple occasions! In addition to teams, we offer volleyball clinics in the spring and a yearly summer camp.

High School Girls Volleyball
We offer multiple levels of volleyball for high school girls. Our Freshman team is for younger players who are transitioning from the middle school level. Talented middle school girls may also try out for this program. The JV high school team is for girls who are still fine tuning their skills. They participate in games and tournaments during the season. The Varsity high school team is our most competitive team. Athletes train and compete at a high level and participate in multiple tournaments during the season.
